Let Self-Defense expert John Engerteach you or your group how to "BE REAL" in how to protect yourself. This program teaches REALISTIC self-defense techniques that may just save your life. There are a great number of individuals that say they will teach you "self-defense" and then spend several hours instructing unrealistic techniques that will require one to perform techniques that are not in any way realistic in nature, but in fact dangerous (for you!) as well as being far too complicated. Far too many martial arts instructors pluck very complicated techniques from a martial arts system and then try and teach those as a "packaged seminar" on how to defend yourself. Self-defense is NOT A MARTIAL ART SYSTEM and it should not be taught as such!
Self-Defense has many components and should be discussed not from a martial arts philosophy, but from a realistic mind-set of keeping yourself and loved one's safe -- from being aware of surroundings all the way to the taking of someone's life if justified.
The techniques instructed MUST BE SIMPLE TO LEARN AND RETAINED IN MUSCLE MEMORY and REALISTIC IN NATURE. Being real does not require a great deal of strength or the physical attributes of a whirling dervish.
John Enger has been involved in the martial arts for 50 years and a self-defense instructor (Certified by may organizations on the Private, County, State and Federal levels -- including the F.B.I. as a Self-Defense Instructor) with an extensive background in law enforcement and security. He has instructed many groups of police officers, paramedics, security personnel, martial artists and average citizens (well into the thousands over several decades) on how to protect themselves through various self-defense techniques. Some years ago he found a self-defense program developed by Master Peter Brusso (Founder of the martial art system of Anjing Banfa) called the "Be Real Series" which included some 35 different techniques of self-defense in that series. Being a friend of Master Brusso's for some time John was able to take a look at each of the techniques, practice them and honestly review the material Master Brusso presented. Below is an official copy of that review for Master Brusso....
AND HERE IS A VIDEO OF SOME OF THESE TECHNIQUES THAT WILL BE COVERED IN YOUR COURSE!
